Sapphira is an Australian burlesque entrepreneur, singer/songwriter and teacher who believes in positivity. Following her recovery from a severe mental illness 20 years ago, she founded Sapphira’s Showtime, an online and in-person events production company. The creator of World Burlesque Day and the World Burlesque Academy App, she teaches online and has connected 57 countries through Instagram and Zoom broadcasts. She is the founder of the Ibiza Burlesque Festival and offers sound healing sessions via Zoom, too. Sapphira began writing under her original name Priscilla Tonkin in Melbourne in 1998, when she worked at The Age CitySearch. She wrote reviews for the Clubbing & Nightlife online pages. She went on to broaden her career in print, becoming a music journalist for local street press Beat Magazine. Her feature stories appeared in Kiss FM magazine and Large Magazine. Now her writing can be found in the Metro, The Real Mainstream, Bold Ambition Magazine and Huffington Post.
